SANTA MARIA, CA - In a pretrial hearing held in Santa Maria today, Judge Melville dismissed the defense attorney’s claims of prosecutorial misconduct and refused a bid by the defense to have the charges against Michael Jackson dropped. Judge Rodney Melville firmly added that the fact that there was enough evidence for the case to go forward did NOT indicate Jackson's guilt.

The King of Pop attended the hearing with his family again, and like last months appearance Michael did not actually have to appear and the siblings were dressed in symbolic all white.

According to nbc4.tv, Michael Jackson attended Sunday morning church services today. Along with his attorney Thomas Mesereau, brother Randy and friend (comedian) Steve Harvey, the King of Pop attended services where fans and community leaders turned up to show their support.

Although Michael Jackson filed a waiver which meant he does not have to attend hearings next week, he has decided to attend Monday's hearing - which is scheduled to see Santa Barbara District Attorney Tom Sneddon testify, according to the Associated Press.

Michael Jackson's attorneys were in court once again yesterday, to attend the latest hearing in the case against the King of Pop. Several items were discussed at the hearing, many of which were complaints made by Defence attorneys about conduct by Prosecutors during their investigations. According to news-press, Defence attorneys argued that Prosecutors carried out a "blatantly illegal" search of "outrageous government misconduct" when raiding the office of private investigator Bradley Miller.

The Los Angeles Police Department have cleared Michael Jackson of child abuse allegations that only recently surfaced. The false story appeared in tabloids around the globe, including News of the World in the UK, and detailed the fabricated story provided by an 18-year-old male.
Judge Sets Tentative Trial Date

Yesterday, May 28th, Michael Jackson’s attorneys were in court once again to attend a hearing which would discuss issues such as unsealing documents, possible bail reduction, and a possible date for trial later this year, according to the Associated Press. Judge Melville decided to set a tentative date of September 13th for the trial, stating the date was "a bull's eye that we're shooting at" after acknowledging the fact that this date may not be possible after objections made by the Defence.
Michael Jackson Pleads 'Not Guilty' At Arraignment

Michael Jackson has pleaded "not guilty" to charges brought against him by a grand jury indictment. After being reprimanded on January 16th by Judge Rodney Melville for being 20 minutes late, the King of Pop arrived at the Santa Maria Courthouse 40 minutes early with his attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr.
