RE: Timing of the Filing of Criminal Charges and the Procedures for Obtaining a Copy of the Felony Complaint



District Attorney Tom Sneddon announced that pursuant to Michael Jackson’s surrender, he was cite released for January 9, 2004. No charges will be filed until after Thanksgiving. When they are filed, the notice will be posted in advance, as well as instructions on how to easily obtain a copy of the complaint, on both the Sheriff’s and District Attorney’s websites. Attempts to contact either the courts and/or either of our departments in advance of that notice will simply be a waste of everyone’s valuable time.
